day 1

BUCHAREST

Welcome to Romania! We land at the Bucharest airport where we are greeted by our guide who will accompany us to the hotel transfer. Free day at your disposal to explore the city at your leisure.

Dinner included. Airport transfer included. It is possible to store luggage at the hotel even before check-in.

day 2

BUCHAREST – COZIA – SIBIU – BAZNA

The first stop of the day is the Cozia Monastery, one of the oldest in Romania. We continue our journey through the Olt Valley and Red Tower Pass, the old border of Wallachian Transylvania. We arrive at Sibiu, which we visit: the Large Square, the Small Square, the Bridge of Lies, and the Evangelical Church. In the afternoon, we arrive at Bazna.

day 3

BAZNA – BIERTAN – SIGHISOARA – BAZNA

This morning we visit Biertan, the Saxon fortified church of Transylvania. We then explore the city of Sighisoara: the Clock Tower, the Birthplace of Dracula and the Church on the Hill. In the afternoon, we look forward to a carriage ride from Bazna to the fortified church of Boian. Tonight we will attend a traditional gala dinner.

day 4

BAZNA – TURDA – CLUJ NAPOCA – SIGHETU MARMAȚIEI

The first stop of the day is Turda, where we visit the salt mine. We then head to Cluj Napoca, a city where we find the St. Michael's Cathedral and the Statue of King Matthias Corvinus. Today's destination is Sapanta, where we visit the Merry Cemetery.

day 5

SIGHETU MARMAȚIEI – VIȘEU DE SUS – BISTRIȚA

This morning we reach Viseul de Sus, where our steam locomotive awaits us. We board and set off on a picturesque journey through the Vaser Valley and the Carpathians; a picnic lunch in the mountainous setting of Romania. In the afternoon we arrive at Bistrita.

day 6

BISTRITA – SOVATA – PREDEAL

The first stop of the day is the spa town of Sovata, known for its hot springs. Our journey continues aboard the steam locomotive which takes us from Sovata to Campu Cetatii and back. We then set off for Predeal, passing through Praid and Homorod.

day 7

PREDEAL – BRASOV – BRAN – SINAIA – BUCHAREST

This morning we explore the historic center of Brasov. We continue to the Bran Castle, better known as Dracula's Castle! We then stop at Sinaia to visit the Peles Castle, the former residence of the kings of Romania. In the afternoon we reach Bucharest, the capital of Romania, for a panoramic tour with a visit to the Patriarchal Church and the Village Museum.

day 8

BUCHAREST

Free morning at your disposal until the time of transfer to the Bucharest airport for the return.
