day 1

LISBON

Welcome to Lisbon, in Portugal! Our adventure begins with a welcome meeting at the hotel with the local leader and fellow travelers at 6:00 PM, after which we will head together for dinner at a local restaurant followed by a walk in the city center!

day 2

MALHAO – VILA NOVA DE MILFONTES

10 km

Our tour in Portugal continues towards the ancient Fishermen's Trail which crosses Alentejo and Algarve. Once we arrive at our destination, our journey begins winding along the sandy beach stretch through the dunes of Aivados and Malhao. Today's walk concludes at Vila Nova de Milfontes, where we can cool off with a dip in the ocean!

Breakfast included, lunch and dinner on your own. Transfers included. Excursions included. The distance covered today is about 10 km. Walking on the hard sand exposed to direct sunlight is often difficult and more tiring than one might imagine. Please read the packing list carefully to ensure you have all the necessary items to make the walk enjoyable and safe.

day 3

VILA NOVA DE MILFONTES – ALMOGRAVE

12 km

We start the day with a boat trip from the mouth of the Mira River to Praia das Furnas, where we will disembark and begin our walk. On the journey towards Almograve, we follow the coast and pass by marshes that serve as fertile ground for many fish species.

day 4

ALMOGRAVE – ZAMBUJEIRA DO MAR

22 km

The scenic tour continues! We get up early to take the trail between Almograve and Zambujeira do Mar: the scenery we encounter today is among the most dramatic and beautiful of our trip. We cross high and rugged cliffs that serve as nesting grounds for over twenty species of birds! We arrive at Zambujeira do Mar in time for lunch at a local restaurant with a menu rich in fresh fish, brought from the fish market along the road. Later, we take a short walk to the Capela de Nossa Senhora do Mar, a charming little chapel overlooking the sea. We have the chance to bring a picnic with us and watch the sunset from this privileged spot!

day 5

ZAMBUJEIRA DO MAR – ALJEZUR

18 km

Let's enjoy a slower start to the day before heading out for another amazing walk, filled with even more breathtaking coastal landscapes. Starting from Zambujeira do Mar, we walk along gentle cliffs past the beaches of Alteirinhos, Carvalhal, Machados, and Amália before arriving at a natural fisherman's harbor at Azenha do Mar. We finish our walk at Odeceixe and enjoy some free time to relax on the beach or explore the village. We board a public bus and head to Aljezur where we will spend the night.

day 6

ALJEZUR

The day is entirely dedicated to leisure time. You can choose whether to continue with the many scenic trails or enjoy the waves at Praia da Amoreira where you can rent surfing equipment or take a lesson, or you might prefer to rent a bicycle to explore the surrounding landscapes!

day 7

VILA DO BISPO – SAGRES

20 km

This morning we are moving from Aljezur to Vila do Bispo, where you will start another walk, heading towards Cabo de São Vicente, the southwesternmost point of continental Europe. We follow the coast before ending up in Sagres, a popular spot for surfers and holidaymakers. If the name sounds familiar, it might be because of the iconic Portuguese beer that is named after the town, so why not grab a nice glass of cerveja and have dinner with your group tonight?

day 8

SAGRES

Our adventure discovering the scenic Portugal ends here! Goodbye Portugal, until the next tour!
