Jerash UNESCO Heritage. The Pompeii of the East: an entire Roman city that remained intact for centuries under the sand.
Wadi Rum a UNESCO Heritage Site. The 'Valley of the Moon', a desert that has hosted human settlements since prehistoric times and has been the setting for unforgettable movies.
The best time to visit Jordan
In Jordan, the spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) are ideal times to visit historical sites like Petra and the Wadi Rum desert, avoiding the high summer temperatures and the winter cold. Summer can be very hot, especially in the south and in the east.

- Arid dry climate. The average annual temperature in Amman in January is 5 degrees, while in July it is 30 degrees. In the Jordan Valley, by the Dead Sea, and in the South, temperatures are on average 10 degrees higher
