PALERMO

Touch down at Palermo Airport and collect your rental car, ready to embark on your journey to Palermo. The day is yours to explore the city at your leisure, with no scheduled activities. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and history of Palermo, at your own pace. Your accommodation for the night will be in the Palermo area.

day 2

PALERMO - MONREALE - MONDELLO

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel. Today, you have the freedom to unwind and discover the city of Palermo at your own pace. We suggest a visit to Palermo, starting with the Teatro Massimo, Europe's third-largest opera theatre. Next, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the 'Il Capo' market, reminiscent of an African souk. Here, you'll get to taste the traditional Sicilian 'Arancina', a local street food delicacy, at a nearby bar. Continue your exploration in the city's old quarter, visiting the Cathedral, the Royal Palace, and the Palatine Chapel. Then, head to Monreale, renowned for its Cathedral adorned with polychrome mosaics depicting scenes from the Old and New Testament, set against a golden backdrop. Conclude your visit with the cloister. In the afternoon, bask in the sun at one of Italy's most beautiful beaches, Mondello, just a short 30-minute journey from the city centre. Once a fishing village, Mondello is now a popular summer retreat for Palermo's affluent families, boasting numerous liberty-style villas and the 'Stabilimento Balneare', a bathhouse built on stilts over the water, which also houses one of Palermo's finest restaurants. The half-moon shaped Mondello beach, nestled between Monte Pellegrino and Capo Gallo, offers stunning sea views. Depending on the season, you may even get a chance to swim (from May to October). A leisurely stroll along the palm-lined sea-promenade is a must-do. In the main square, treat yourself to Sicilian street-food or an ice-cream. Return to Palermo city centre for an overnight stay.

CEFALÚ - CASTELBUONO

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at our hotel. Today, you have the opportunity to bask in the sun on the stunning sandy beach of Cefalù and explore the quaint town of Castelbuono. We recommend a journey to Cefalù, where your adventure begins at the Piazza del Duomo. This square, nestled beneath the Cathedral boasting magnificent mosaics, is encircled by grand palaces. Stroll along Corso Ruggero, the main thoroughfare, adorned with a variety of boutiques and built atop the ancient Roman decumanus street, before heading to the historic lavatory. Next, a scenic drive up the hills will take you to Castelbuono. This enchanting town, established in the 14th century around a castle constructed by the Ventimiglia family, has seen numerous transformations over the years. It's also the gateway to the Madonie regional park. We suggest settling down at a local restaurant to savor the unique flavors of their special meat and mushrooms. After a day of exploration, return to Palermo for a restful night's sleep at our hotel.

MARSALA - ERICE - PANTELLERIA

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at our hotel. You have the option to spend your day basking in the sun at the stunning sandy beaches of San Vito lo Capo or Macari. We recommend a drive to Marsala, renowned for its salt works and wine production. Make a pit stop at Riserva dello Stagnone, a mesmerizing location boasting a unique natural landscape with its white salt pans and windmills. Continue your journey to Erice, a medieval town perched on the peak of Monte San Giuliano. Here, you can marvel at the exterior of the Venus Castle and the Cathedral. Don't forget to pause at a local bakery to savor Erice's traditional almond pastry. Conclude your day with a drive to Palermo airport, drop off your rental car, and catch a flight to Pantelleria at 17.05. After a short 50-minute flight, you'll arrive in Pantelleria. If you've booked a rental car, pick it up at the airport and drive to your hotel for an overnight stay.

PANTELLERIA
